The news that Andy Coulson chose to arrange his first interview with the Metropolitan police was no surprise. What did surprise me was:
1. He wasn’t interviewed under caution whilst other former News of the World reporters have been.
So:
2. The Metropolitan police has chosen not to hand over the enquiry to another police service. Given that they are under parliamentary scrutiny for their role in the original investigation and the former investigating officer now works for News International, I think it would be appropriate to do so now.
How can I help?
3. I will gladly help the new investigating authority (or the Met for that matter) with suggested questions for subsequent interviews with Mr Coulson.
