Mick Fealty http://twitter.com/MickFealty claims that this statement by Chameleon contains a change in Tory policy:

http://blog.conservatives.com/index.php/2009/10/03/there-will-be-no-change-in-our-policy-on-europe/

I think it is the promise to give a date for a referendum in the forthcoming General Election IF the Poles and Czechs have not yet ratified Lisbon by then, to operate IF he wins the election, which, as he points out is a pretty distant possibility.

His statement is typical Bullers cheek of course, not least his silly jibe re Unemployment, lower here than in France, Germany, USA, Italy . . .

I guess his "promise" is intended to push the election as near to June as possible.
