Boris Johnson support for Veronica Wadley

Given the accusations of cronyism that were leveled at Ken Livingstone, the letters from Liz Forgan, Chair of the Arts Council to an officicial at the Department of Culture Media and Sport and, Boris Johnson to Ben Bradshaw, are pretty damning for the Mayor of London.

Ask Sadiq Khan to see the letter he sent to the Mayor referencing assertions the Mayor made regarding who requested cuts to rail services in South London. Obviously it would be inappropriate and wrong to call Boris a bare-faced liar, but it certainly highlights some inconsistencies and misunderstandings on the part of the mayor. A rollicking good read. Five stars.

Currently I’m embroiled in a much smaller situation, where the same problem arises: a failure to agree on the criteria for making an appointment. Words are used that mean different things to different people, and those closer to the power do not do the honourable thing and ensure that everyone agrees on the meanings of those words before the appointment process starts. This seems to be the curse of the first 10 years of this Millenium.
