Talk about local

I’ve just added Talk About Local to the sidebar links. The site is dedicated to giving small communities an online voice. I’m hoping to amplify their ideas in Parliament. If you know of any other sites that are dedicated to wiring communities together using digital tools, please let me know.

thanks tom – talk about local is about empowering people in their communities to find an effective voice online

the social media herd often forgets that the most powerful social media tool is the simple ability to publish online, persistently. for many communities it will be the first time they have had their own voice that they control.

will keep you posted as it develops – also we are recruiting someone to help me run the project in the west midlands – understand you have some more time on your hands right now…. get in touch through the site if interested, job description etc there

Good move Tom, Talk about Local is also an innovative way of building communities in place through an online voice. As someone who, like you, is away from my home community during the week it is a great way of staying connected.

Hi Tom, Just to let you know that the Lighthouse project is hosting a talk local site for Wednesbury. It was only set up yesterday so it is early days, but hopefully it will provide a place for Wednesbury people to bring problems and success to the public domain. The address is wednesburylocal.wordpress.com (typed into address bar)

Sue
