If your life is in danger all you have to do is Dial : 999 and within minutes the Police will arrive with the knowledge that they could face injury or death whilst executing their duties , who else would do that for you ? I think we should all understand and support our police force's because they are there for us all Twenty Four hours a day Seven days a week, no matter who we are. We all need to understand that the Police deal with the Dangerous and Unpredictable day in and day out and that they deal with intelligent criminals as well as the Thug's that know how to play the system. The Police do a thankless job as they will always make enemies, this is the nature of the job as someone always is in the wrong and ends up in court. Also let's not forget that the Police as well as every other person or organisation make mistakes ,it's human nature. So let's not Demoralise those that protect and care for us,simply because they make the odd mistake or Two. The entire Police Force need our support day in and day out, just as they do for us. We should educate people about their true value as people have lost sight of who the good guy's are. I hope that this makes sense because I really fear that the day will come when those that consider a career in the Police force will quicky realise that to go into the Police force would be an insult to one's self.

Downing Street is probably the most protected place in London with state of the art surveilance and armed police. The Media and Photographers would have had strict confidentiality and security rules that applied to be allowed within that restricted secure area of Downing Street. Bob Quick would not have given security a second thought when he got out of that car and went into Downing Street because he would have known how secure it was within that restricted secure area of Downing Street. So it is mind blowing that this photograph came to light and caused these spectacular chain of events that led to Bob Quick's resignation. I dont believe that Bob Quick made any error or blunder, security breach or what ever it is called because he was within the restricted secure area of Downing Street and he knew that the media and photographers were under strict rules of confidentiality with additional security measures to be allowed there. I believe that Bob Quick should withdraw his resgnation as he has done nothing wrong, given the full facts of the complete security that surrounds Downing Street. To be honest I am astonished that Bob Quick handed in his resignation and also that it was accepted. I feel that there is more to this story ,and it leaves many unanswered questions. Lastly I would like to add that Bob Quick is a man that has worked hard all his life for the good of others and I am deeply sadened to see a good man go in such a way when his expertise and professionalism are precious. All Londoner's need him more than we realise. This whole episode is really a Mega Mega Over Reation over spilt milk and no harm as come.

Well give that he had clearly breached the Official Secrets Act by his action, he should have been sacked without any benefits on the spot.

But then, New Labour look after their own, don't they, especially when it is other people, many of them unable to save for their own pensions, who will pay the pension of a man whose outburst against the Tories showed him to be unfit for his post.

And no, I'm not a Tory. I voted Labour for 32 years until Iraq.

Now I want to see you destroyed for the grief you have wrought on my country, for the destruction of the political process - democracy itself, for the destruction of the social fabric of a country which had for years handled immigrants well, and for Brown's single handed destruction of the economy and his theft of my pension to pay yours.

You are loathsome. And you will find out how loathed you are next year.

What has happened to the rules about carrying documents classified as Secret? Locked carrying case at all times outside a secure building, I'm told. Logged out when being taken out of the building.
As someone commented on ukcrypto, central London seems to be regarded by some in the public sector as being a safe bubble - all that surveillance by CCTV cameras, for example. And by journalists...
Not just resigned, but required to resign from at least the rank that he held, I hope.

This could have happened to anyone. It is a simple mistake and now his experience of all these years has been lost probably to the private security industry
