Tom, the MMR vaccine did cause autism and it can also be claimed that no refeences ever appear in the press to highlight this fact.
The initial deliverance of MMR in Canada were found to highlight cases of autism and this was found to be because of a virulent strain of the mumps virus included in the vaccine.
Today we have a less virulent strain included and all is well. Hmm...

Not according to Wakefield who was hounded out of financial independence for declaring a concern.

The medical profession bent over backwards to break Wakefield and disabuse all from such thoughts of a link between vaccination and deliberate malpractice.

Not everyone is susceptible to ill health from a bad vaccination but some obviously are/were. Pharmaceutical Companies had everything to lose from being found to produce a flawed vaccine and society also loses from any scare story put out.

Trust the scientists to give us the truth and trust the politicians to trust the scientists and always trust the vaccine to deliver a good proportion of cover.

The newspapers have never been wrong in this whole sorry episode whatever your particular stance on autism and MMR.

I know this is a capital offence I commit by giving Wakefield a platform but to ignore him entirely by threats was a crime, especially to children.

Ben is right. Have you seen the latest graph? http://www.hpa.org.uk/web/HPAweb&HPAwebStandard/HPAweb_C/1223019390211
>1,000 measles cases so far this year. Some children are going to be seriously affected by decisions their parents took - based on the bad advice of some newspapers. Sort themselves out indeed..
