This is an area where I believe it really is good to use the voluntary sector - but not those who have become careerists feeding on public money. In other words, gentle persuasion, the power of good people to influence others, the power of community rather than of statism. The liberal middle way.

Dear all.
Please understand that the new Senator for NSW John Williams is not highly representative of the attitudes of Australians. Despite our reputation for bastardry we don’t favour deploying cattle prods on the unemployed. Nor is the use of capital punishment high on our list of must dos.
