Let’s have a bit of the govt’s own soothing ointment, please: respect – or perhaps you didn’t get a tub with the job. Unless you can prove that the ‘pointy heads’, i.e. technical people who designed the system, claimed the machines were foolproof, please withdraw that statement.
And note that the article says there are only 4,000 of the facial recognition machines in a total population of 570,000 cigarette vending machines in Japan, and that most of the machines are being fitted with Taspo age verification card readers. Of course youngsters will borrow adults’ Taspo cards, just like I recently saw an adult come out of a shop and give fags to two young kids who (the shopkeeper told me) had just been turned away when they tried to buy the fags themselves.
If you want to see how to do it properly Look at our website. There is so much silly uninformed comment on this subject. What kid buys cigarettes out of a machine at £ 6.50 when he could get them off his brother for supermarket prices? The government that is totally innept at running the economy is pandering to gullible voters who know nothing of the real world.
Drunks fill our major cities every weekend, fighting, urinating and being sick in the street. Where’s the government action on that? Illegal drugs are taken in their millions, where’s the action on that? The UK is truly a pathetic example of a society in melt down. And you biggest worry is? Vending machines? Get a life
