Thanks, Tom. We’ll see.
(Not many people get to hear about it, but Staines has also issued threats and warnings against the MSM in the past… so they may be a little bit shy.)
I presume you’re not actually against people protecting themselves against libellous statements.
Here’s a hypothetical, if I falsely said that a Labour councillor kicked a girl up the bum, you’d be the first to back any resulting legal action I presume.
What, are you curious to see what you’ll get away with when you go smearing others, Dominic?
And Staines hasn’t actually started any legal action. That’s a major point, as it was with Usmanov. Try to keep up.
Cheers
‘And Staines hasn’t actually started any legal action. That’s a major point…’
Of course it is accepted practice to inform the other party/give them a chance to retract before launching litigation. So how is that a major point?
It would be a bit two-faced of the media to ignore Guido whenever he embarrasses them or beats them to a story, only for them to dish the dirt on him when it suits. Consistency would be appreciated either way.

It’s a major point, Dominic, because his lawyer has no place badgering me for my home address or compelling me to spend money on a lawyer when no actual action is underway. Again, it would help if you tried to keep up.
12 hours later and no response from Dominic.
Pity.
Across the blogs covering this, only the ever-faithful Praguetory and a few sock-puppets are fighting Staines’ corner. Staines himself is not mentioning it (which I find odd, as he normally writes an f-you post regarding those who challenge him).
How pleasant. Having lost the argument here, Praguetory is now claiming on other websites that I am paranoid and obsessive:

I called you moronic too.
And yet you still lost the argument.
When I posted my first comment on this thread it was before your comment had published – I was not arguing with you.
Demonstrating persecutory beliefs – paranoia.
Then you say that legal action hasn’t started as if contradicting me – I had never said that it had started
Unable to form a logical/relevant argument – Moronic
You have posted 6 times on this thread. The highlight was the comment posted exactly 12 hours after your previous comment (did you set an alarm?) asking for ‘a response’ even though there was no question.
Full house – obsessive
If Tim, you haven’t libelled someone why do you need ‘supporters’?
Three things:
First, given events in the last 18 months, Guido’s got a point. Tom may well have travelled the length of Britain to talk to Gordon about his kids, rather than picking up a phone, but it’s hardly surprising that a right-wing blogger is suspicious is it?
Second, reading the comment threads I think half of you would enjoy a cartoon in the latest Private Eye, showing a man at his computer updating his blog with his wife telling a friend: “He loves the look of his own voice”.
Third, this isn’t going to get published is it?
At least Guido doesn’t tell porkies about not returning to government just to get a public retraction and apology….
1. Praguetory, the hypothetical example you presented involved ‘resulting legal action’. I pointed out where my example was different, because so far there is no actual legal action… only threats designed to intimidate me into shutting up.
2. I was here 12 hours later, and thought it worth mentioning. Look for the paranoia in your own comment, Dominic.
3. I haven’t libelled Staines, and I need supporters because (and you appear to have missed this bit) Staines’ lawyer is badgering me for my home address or compelling me to spend money on a lawyer when no actual action is underway.
4. Thankfully, I have supporters and all Staines has (so far) is you and a handful of smear merchants and sock-puppeting losers who – tellingly – have concentrated their efforts on attacking me in all manner of ways instead of pointing out where Staines might be justified in his actions.
