Photography school

At the very start of last year, the family gave me a beautiful digital camera for my 40th birthday. This year, I’m determined to learn how to use it properly. Do you know of any good photography schools for novices?

Tom,

Check out these guys: http://www.zoom-in.org/

It’s a charity based in Clapham who’s raison d’etre is to teach people photography. I did a beginners course in digital photography with them last year in order to get my head around using my digital SLR and it was bang on.

The City Lit do some good introductory courses as well. http://www.citylit.ac.uk

You could also look at digital-photography-school.com and weddingphotographyblog.com.

There is (as I’m sure you know) an APPG on photography…

Hi Tom,

I just finished the begginners course at St Martins – it was amazing! Its only 10 weeks but takes you through all the basics.

Hope you’re well.
