"The fact that his own constituency chairwoman said he was just representing the views of his local constituents speaks volumes for how valid his comments were"

No, it speaks volumes about the views of Conservative Party officers...

Poor Iain Dale knows he will never ever fill the shoes of Anne Widdecombe and sadly resorts to swearing at critics. I think the country deserves an apology from Dave Shameron for his dithering over Nigel Hastilow. Inept and incompetent Dave who twists and turns to keep his right wingers on board.

Tom, I think you and everyone else really has to try and separate what was said by Nigel, why he said it, and how he said it. The fact that his own constituency chairwoman said he was just representing the views of his local constituents speaks volumes for how valid his comments were, taken in the context of his own local area.

To cut a long story short, Nigel hasn't done anything wrong and Iain defending him is absolutely fine.

I love watching Iain squirm under a bit of pressure - which is why part of me wants him to become an MP, he's going to be rubbish at it!
