One week away and the return to the veg patch was like a harvest festival. We’ve eaten fresh broccoli, carrots, potatoes, garlic and shallots today.
But the feast of the day was catching up on what was supposed to be a quiet week in politics.
The Conservatives seem convinced that there is going to be an election called next week! After the disaster over their bare knuckle health campaign, I was beginning to think that maybe we should have Autumn election.
But then why rush?
In the panic, David Cameron’s Conservatives have lurched to the right, lost their bottle over their own tax plans and rushed out a kindergarten 11 plus announcement on education.
As long as Mr Cameron continues back peddling to look for work, my party should just enjoy the show.

Speaking of Ashford … This is all very well but what about the news that Ms A Widdy is retiring and moving on to Showbiz? And the posters already displayed in parts of Kent backing a certain local campaigner?

To top it all some old dinosuar called Ancram is comming out with statements that make Norman Tebbit look like a lefty. I too think calling an election now would spoil the fun. Let’s sit back and enjoy the show. see what else they unearth. I thought bringing in Redwood was the worst they could do until Ancram. Tom do you have to deal with these people?
