Following the stories about the Conservative candidate for Ealing Southall today, I think voters in Ealing would want to know whether David Cameron knew about the cheque for £4,800 to the Labour Party. The Sunday Telegraph story claims that the Conservative candidate was “parachuted in” by Francis Maude. Surely Mr Maude would have told his boss, wouldn’t he?

Did Cameron know about Lit’s political promiscuity? It seems just about impossible as he would surely have calculated that it was likely to be revealed and be hugely embarrassing – as has turned out to be the case. Would the dumped Maude have “parachuted” Lit in knowing all this was likely to happen? Search me. Either way it makes Cameron look stupid. If I were him I’d be a very worried man.
The whole PR stunt of the Lit candidature seems to have gone badly wrong for Cameron, you can see now why he joined the Tory party on the day he was selected. If this had been a Labour candidate we would’ve been rightfully mortified, thankfully we seem to employ a more rigourous selection procedure in selecting candidates.
The other question I ask of Tony Lit is whlist attending the event is bad enough why the hell did he get his photo taken with Tony Blair if he had Conseravtive political aspirations?
