The heat of the summer

It’s a hot, sticky day here in Ealing. News has just reached me that there was a small incident involving the opposition parties earlier this afternoon. Apparently, their supporters were getting a little hot under the collar, so much so that the police were called. Don’t worry though, I think it was captured on camera by Channel 4 News. It’ll be on at 6.30 tonight.

I missed Iain Dale reviewing the papers last night by the way. How did he do?

Tom – from across the water: am enjoying the political combat with a certain glee. Ride on!

[...] Now, this is either a rather sneaky attempt at a political smear or an honest mistake. Over on his blog Tom Watson posted up the following: News has just reached me that there was a small incident involving the opposition parties earlier this afternoon. If you’d caught the Channel 4 piece Tom, you’d have seen that you didn’t really get the story correct: http://www.libdemvoice.org/tom-watson-gets-it-wrong-1019.html

I was nowhere near the action sadly so couldn’t comment. Spent all day in Southall. Was lovely there. Didn’t meet a tory or liberal voter all day!

The Lib Dem Voice rebuttal sounds a bit too hasty to me. Even if it was true, how typical of the Lib Dems to stumble into the party a bit late and not quite sure what’s going on – a metaphor for their campaign in Ealing perhaps?

Having spent the day in a pretty Tory bit of the constituency that Cameron visited two days ago i thought our vote was standing up very well and plenty of switchers from the Libs who seem to be being squeezed hard.
