Iain Dale

Iain Dale would like you to know that he is reviewing the papers on Sky News tonight. As Iain says, watch out for “blather, filling and bluster…”

Update: Sorry, Iain is on at 11.45 tonight on the BBC. Don’t forget to sing happy birthday to him when the clocks strike midnight. He’s 45 tomorrow. I’m off to say thank you to our volunteers now, but in advance of tomorrow may I be the first to wish Iain a very happy birthday.

Tom, mate, calm down. Three of your last posts have been about me. I’m beginning to wonder if Mrs Watson shouldn’t be worried.

Unless I had more to drink than I thought last night, I’m sure that post was about Mr Dale’s appearance on Sky last night where hid did the newspaper review with a very strange man in a wig…

He’s not on tonight you mean? Mrs Watson will be disappointed. And so will I.

It was after my bedtime and I was using the video to record the test card….

Tom, just so you get enough of your daily fix, I shall be doing the News 24 paper review at 11.45pm tonight :)

Who are you doing it with Iain?

presumably Iain will have to offer up some spin on the subject of the poll in the NOTW showing a 7% labour lead…

Kate Bevan from the Guardian. I’m sure the question was aimed at finding out if it was another Tory. To be honest with you I am fed up with being paired with other Tories when doing these newspaper reviews. It happens very rarely on the BBC, but Sky seem to like putting two Tories, or two Labour people on together. Not sure why.

Hi Tom,
wonder if the Beeb are billing Iain Dale as a “Conservative blogger” yet – as do Sky News do? If they don’t, viewers could be duped into thinking he’s in some way impartial – which he ain’t.

By the way, have you noticed anything fishy about the two political polls in the News of the World and the Sunday Telegraph? Broadcasting organisations are running them as TWO separate polls – But they are, in fact, the SAME poll carried out by the SAME polling organisation (ICM) at the SAME time. All looks very fishy to me – even though seeing Cameron down seven points is a matter of deep personal joy!
