You would have thought that he’d have learnt from the lessons of his past and done more homework before appearing on Newsnight.
Guido Says: Well the live interview was definitely a mistake and against my better judgement, as was the in-the-shadows idea of the Newsnight editor
Newsnight say: the only way we were able to persuade Guido Fawkes to make a film for Newsnight was to allow him to appear in disguise. Once we saw the film it became clear that the issues he raised needed to be debated. He was very reluctant to appear live but was persuaded to do so only by us offering to again disguise his identity. We used a graphic backing of his website (emailed to us by Guido) in order to liven up the dark Millbank studio. We did not, in anyway, encourage him to disguise his identity.
There’s still that defensive line about journalists putting words into your mouth to use eh Guido.

I though Paxman’s description of Paul Delaire Staines AKA Guido Fawkes as living in a ‘pathetic conspiracy world’ pretty well summed up the young gent’s predicament…
And it’s not just Guido who’s looking ropey. Here’s the Greater London Authority demolishing the claims of 18 Doughty Street and Iain Dale:

Looks like either Dale and 18DS were duped by the puny and unrepresentative “London Cab Drivers’ Club”, or they just don’t care because bashing the mayor of London’s environmental policies is more important than the facts.
