Paul Delaire-Staines

About an hour ago, I linked to a Guardian article regarding a Mr Paul Delaire-Staines. He’s commented here that the article in question was the subject of a 400 word retraction by the Guardian. In the interests of fair play, I have removed the article but have emailed Mr Staines to send me a copy of the retraction so that I can be satisfied that the Guardian got the story wrong. Still, perhaps Mr Staines would like to confirm that he was a member of the Federation of Conservative Students at Humberside College in the mid to late 1980′s?

Presumably you are unaware of the 400 word retraction by David Rose the journalist who wrote that article.

You are now on notice.

Please remove.

For a revolutionary liberal, Mr Fawkes, you are most litigious…

Since I haven’t seen the link to the article or retraction I don’t know about this but..

Why shouldn’t a right wing blogger have been a member of the conservatives? Who cares what a right wing blogger did in his “youth”?

Are all left wing bloggers saints? How many cabinet ministers have taken illegal drugs in the past? How many cabinet ministers continue to use illegal drugs?

Labour are running scared, and this hysterical “witch-hunt” by the Party and the left wing media is proof. You can’t win the argument, so you have to smear the other side instead.

Whatever happened to purer-than-pure? Whatever happened to restoring faith in politics and politicians?

The accusation is not whether Guido was a member of the FCS (he undoubtedly was). It’s rather more serious than that…

Well then, let’s have it out in the open. Has he been found guilty by a court of law?

Ed, have you ever read Guido’s blog?

“You can’t win the argument, so you have to smear the other side instead” is his middle name.

#10 Wordblog » Blog Archive » Guido Fawkes turns to law after MP’s post on 02.11.07 at 4:25 pm

[...] 4pm The remainder of  this post has been removed. I had been looking at Watson’s blog earlier and jumped to an asumption about the post that Staines was complaining about.  Watson mentioned Staines in two posts today. One post has been replaced while the other other remains as written. [...]

SO WHAT..?

‘Defences’ put forward by Staines’ acolytes (so far) have been;

“So what?”, “Look! Over there!” and shooting of carefully-selected messengers.

Keep at it… you’re only helping.

Perhaps you could just make sure your website is registered offshore, Tom? That, after all, seems to be Guido’s defence…

I was wondering much the same…
