We threw Gina Ford’s book in the bin after the first week of parenting.

Back in August when Gina Ford was trying to close mumsnet down I thought what she was doing was wrong. My views have not changed since then.

Fine to throw it out but well worth a read first. We never adhered to her minute by minute routines, but getting the kids into a routine of some sorts really makes parenting easy compared to those whose kids lack one.

I find it strange that someone who has never had any kids can feel they have the right to tell others how to raise their children.
We never read her books but they would have gone in the bin anyway.

She has gone on to write a book about twins since with Alice Beer as her co-author. It stresses me out just thinking about it. I agree with Mrs Penguin.

How very liberating to file everything you THINK you might not like “in the bin” !!!
