David Cameron

David Cameron must have known that the story of his drug taking would enter the public domain. My sense is that his people have rushed it out knowing that a number of biographies are to be published about him later in the year. They must have known that a degree of serious scrutiny by Francis Elliot and James Hanning would have revealed the Eton incident. There is no doubt that Mr Elliot’s book will be the must-read biography of the season. But the story of his drug taking is out there now. He’s not lied, he’s not caused any long term damage, now lets get back to talking about all the private equity firms that fund his office.

One thing though – do you think that he or George Osborne ever went to a rave organised by Guido Fawkes? They’re the same age and were knocking about in the same crowd. Just a thought.

Be fair, Tom; it could well be that David Cameron and George Osborne were only guilty of drinking a few innocent glasses of punch:

PS – If Dave is the big fish, and Paul is the little fish… does that make George a cardboard box?

I expect lots of people went to said raves. If they hadn’t they wouldn’t have been raves. Did you go Tom? Or were you a boring git in your youth?

George Osborne may well have gone to the same raves as Paul Staines, but Osborne probably will say ‘I didn’t remember it’ as a defence- Well, he probably didn’t remeber it!

[...] 4pm The remainder of this post has been removed. I had been looking at Watson’s blog earlier and jumped to an asumption about the post that Staines was complaining about. Watson mentioned Staines in two posts today. One post has been replaced while the other other remains as written. [...]

Tom,

There are some in Labour who really ought to be careful when rushing to denounce here.

I’ve some photos of a few aspiring MPs with rather huge pupils at the Reading Festival from my Future Stewarding days, some of whom are on the Amicus list I believe.

I remember Osbourne when he was as Magdalen. He was a piss head, not a druggy: and far too public school and uncool to ever have gone to a rave.
